Restaurants in Maui You Can’t Miss
•
These are the top 5 restaurants in Maui you can’t miss! I’ve include a breif review and dessription of my experience at these places. I also included some pictures I took while I was there. These restaurants I tried are all over different parts of the island. I know alot of them also have a couple different locations so I made sure to include which location I went to.
- Monkey Pod– I recommend going for their happy hour. They are repeatedly voted best Mai Tai and they taste even better if they’re discounted! The MaiTai has a delicious honey foam on top. I also had a good margarita if MaiTai’s aren’t your thing. We had truffle mushroom pizza, Parmesan Truffle Fries and a Fresh Fish Sandwich. The food is good here just a little pricey that is why I recommend happy hour. It’s a great spot for an early dinner! We went to the Monkey Pod in the Whaler’s Village in Lahaina.
- Ono taco truck and Kohola Brewery– They are a relaxed feel. Ono’s is a food truck located in the West Maui Center parking lot in Lahaina and Kohola Brewery isn’t easily seen from the highway but we walked behind the strip mall to get there. Ono Taco Truck had good Mexican, I got a burrito and yummy Mexican Cola too! Kohola Brewery is in a warehouse, it’s very relaxed. I had a Booch-a-rita and it hit the spot. Located an alley length apart, they’re the perfect duo! Tacos and beer, what could be better?
- Royal Lahina Luau (Myths of Maui Luau)- When you buy tickets to the Royal Lahina Luau it comes with an all you can eat dinner buffet and drinks. They also have servers walking around to help bring you your drinks. The food is okay. It’s nice to try some traditional dishes but you’re really there for the show and to learn about Hawaiian culture and history. When you arrive they give you a real flower lei and offer to take your picture (for an additional cost of course) and then you go and pick a seat. You grab your food and then the show starts. It was an all around good experience and a luau is just something you can’t miss if you visit Hawaii.
- Stewz Burgers-This was a food truck in a shopping center in Pukalani, we stopped here on our way up to Haleakala. They have great burgers we thoroughly enjoyed. We tried the double cheeseburger and the Hana. They were both delicious! Stewz Burgers uses Maui Cattle Company’s grass fed beef and were voted in the top 10% of restaurants worldwide! Definitely a must try! I know they have different locations on Maui and when I looked them up recently it did say one location or maybe the food truck was closed temporarily. I’m not sure how acurate or how up to date their website is but, just want to give you the heads up.
- Paia Fish Market!!!!!!!! –This was our favorite restaurant in Maui! You walk in and order at the counter then it’s cafeteria style seating, where ever you can find a spot. Then a server will find you and bring you your food. We had a great conversation with a woman who retired to Maui after living in Wisconsin her whole life. It was a great experience and delicious food! Seriously! Please don’t skip it! Then walk across the street and grab some Hawaiian ice for dessert. Perfect. Period.
- BONUS! Honorable mention goes to…Pita Paradise– this restaurant had a Mediterranean vibe to the esthetic and food. A little more upscale in a strip mall in Waliea. Food was good and so were the drinks.
I hope you find this restaurant list helpful. When you go to Maui and try one of these yummy places come back and let me know how you liked it in the comments!
